Birch III


During the ice storm this past winter this great birch went down in the Ashfield cemetery with many others. After years of standing over the quietness of a resting place it fell among them. What is there about a birch so very white against a cerulean blue sky?

Devons at Watson Farm

Early last summer we visited Watson Farm on the coast of Jamestown, RI. These red Devons seemed delighted to be in this tall, lush grass and could hardly look up from their feast. I loved the deep red against the green with the sun warming it all.
